The National Retail Federation's 107th annual Convention and Expo was held from 14th to 16th Jan. 2018, at Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. With adequate preparation, Smart Payment Partner Telpo participated and displayed our retail POS system and solutions.
It's recorded that the NRF exhibition had 35,000 registered attendees and 600 exhibitors, from more than 3,500 companies and 90 countries in the 2-days.
During the exhibition, the organizer and exhibitors would like to demonstrate the newest retail-shaping devices and technology. Retail 2020 area is an interactive showcase, organized by the National Retail Federation. It simulates the new process of shopping when incorporating the latest technologies, such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, facial recognition, big data and robotics, etc.
Experts shared the view of new retail. They noted that we are on the "Transforming the shopping journey", and the emerging smart technologies are changing both retailers and consumers.
Consumers are increasingly shopping across various channels and expecting the same experience both online and in-store. Retailers are balancing the cross of the online and offline shopping experience by using all available tools techniques and resources. Recently, the large multinational retail corporation Wal-Mart is also promoting the stage of new retail. WAL-MART puts all 4600 stores into E-business.
