On November 4, 2018, the Telpo smart terminal TPS900 was unveiled at the Zambia toll station and began to service for the toll booth. During the period, the president of Zambia, Edgar Lungu, used smart toll POS machine TPS 900 to collect the highway fare.

President Lungu commissioned the Michel Chilufya Sata toll plaza on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriageway and launch of the e-tolling system on the Copperbelt Province, which has been constructed at a cost 4.3 million United States dollars.

What is the difference between using the smart TPS900 for toll plazas compared to before?

1. Decrease in losses

Collecting cash and changing, it takes more manpower and time for the toll collector to sort out the change. Banknotes and coins are easily damaged and lost. The method of cashless is more conducive to the management of transportation companies.

For drivers, it is not easy to find change sometimes. Mobile POS provides another choice for collecting the high-way fare. The POS TPS900 supports multiple payment methods, such as NFC card reader, MSR, IC card, mobile payment, and QR-code payment, etc.

2. Lower cost of operations

The TPS900 is a touch-screen Android system POS with a friendly interface. The charging process is simple. Whether it is mobile payment or credit card payment. The toll clerk only needs to open the corresponding program to identify the driver's mobile phone QR code or directly swipe the bank card, which takes only 1-2 second. Receipts can also be printed automatically after payment. The average toll collector can learn easily.

Telpo TPS900 is easy to operate so, it has been used in multiple locations, such as the supermarket, restaurant, top-up, mobile law enforcement, lottery, voting, visitor registration, etc.

3. Security

The toll booths of highways are generally remote, and banknotes are cumbersome and not safe enough. The use of pos TPS900 non-banknote transaction guarantees the payment security of both parties.

Following the great concept of Xi's co-construction of the "community of human destiny", Telpo is in charge. Telpo Smart Terminals will maintain quality and innovation to provide high-quality products and solutions to people in all countries.
