As a smart terminal and solution provider founded in 1999, Telpo has served customers from 120+ countries and Telpo desktop smart terminals are widely praised for their reliable quality. Why do customers rave about the quality of Telpo hardware quality? The mystery behind it is the strict quality test.
Reliability test of the whole machine
The overall reliability test contains 2 tests, Climatic Reliability Testing and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Reliability Testing.
Climatic Reliability Testing
Purpose
Climatic Reliability Testing is used to evaluate the performance and service life of the products in actual use by stimulating and testing the operating environment under different climatic conditions. Through testing the performance and operation under different climatic factors such as temperature, humidity, salt spray, ultraviolet light, etc., the reliability and durability of the machines can be ensured.
Telpo’s Climate Reliability Testing abides by the following steps:
1. Define the testing parameters
2. Calibrate the equipment
3. Define the test duration and set the climate parameters
4. Monitor and record
5. Evaluate the test results
Every Telpo smart cash register passes the tests under different climate conditions, and the tests include:
1. Low temperature storage
2. High temperature storage
3. High temperature and high humidity storage
4. Low temperature operation
5. High temperature operation
6. High and low temperature starting
7. Temperature cycle
8. Temperature shock
9. Condensation test
Passing the tests under different climate conditions embodies Telpo’s strict product quality control and commitment to customers.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Reliability Test
The EMC Reliability Test is to ensure the device functions normally without experiencing interference or causing interference to other devices in the vicinity. It’s important to pass Electromagnetic Compatibility Reliability Test to ensure that electronic devices can operate properly in their intended electromagnetic environment.
EMC Test contains:
1. Transient pulse group immunity test
2. Lightning surge test
3. TVS surge test
4. Voltage sag and short interruption test
5. Whole machine electrostatic test
6. Vibration interference
7. Electric mosquito swatter or electronic lighter interference
8. Charger or high voltage line interference
9. Communication equipment interference
10. Motor interference
11. 2.4G band interference
12. Access control interference
In addition to testing the overall machine, Telpo quality tests include various single functional tests to ensure normal operation after long-time service.
Telpo conducts the following tests:
1. Keypress durability testing
In the daily use of smart cash cash registers, frequent keystrokes are inevitable. The purpose of key-press durability testing is to test the service life of the buttons and thus ensures the normal operation in the frequent use.
Test method:
l Fix the machine on the key tester
l Set the test times and speed, adjust the load weight, and test to the specified times
l Every 5000 or 10,000 times, it is necessary to confirm whether the key structure and function are normal
l After the test is completed, check the key segment feeling and function
2. Drop test
In the process of product distribution, the drop of the packaging box is very common. How to ensure that the smart cash register can still work properly and be well packaged when it reaches the customer after a long transportation journey? The drop test is necessary.
Test method:
l Products and accessories should be packed according to shipping requirements
l The drop requirements refer to the testing conditions choice, with 6 faces, 3 edges, and 1 set of diagonals each dropped once
l After the drop, open the package and check the product's appearance and functionality according to the requirements
3. Interface insertion and removal life test
Connecting to the POS accessories by the rich interfaces of the smart cash register is a common conduct. To ensure the function of interfaces keep normal after numerous insertion and removal.
Test method:
l Connect or disconnect the machine interface with the corresponding interface cable
l Set the parameters of the instrument and start the test until the specified number of times. After the test is completed, check if the interface functions and structure are normal
4. Static pressure/tensile strength test
To ensure the normal operation of electronic components and structure, Telpo smart cash registers must pass the static pressure/tensile strength test before delivery.
Test method:
l Screen static pressure test:
(1)Before testing, confirm that the visible area of the screen and its surrounding structure are normal, the display function is working properly, and it can boot and display normally.
(2)Set the downward speed of the compression testing machine's pressure head after contacting the screen to 5mm/min
(3)Place the test sample on the pressure testing machine, set the pressure parameters, and start the machine for pressure testing
l Screen adhesion test
(1)Before testing, confirm that the touch screen is closely adhered and there are no abnormalities in the surrounding structure.
(2)Pre-treatment: Store the fully adhered touch screen in a -10℃ environment for at least 4 hours.
(3)Install a suction cup with a diameter of 120cm on the compression testing machine's contact head, with a lifting speed of 5mm/min.
(4)Each test point should be subjected to a hanging load for at least 10 minutes.
5. Audio test
To guarantee the normal use during the everyday use, Telpo smart cash registers should pass the audio testing before delivery.
Test items:
l Distortion
l Loudness
l Signal-to-noise ratio
l Speaker Lifespan
l Distortion
l Current Sound
l Subjective Sound Quality
Why strict quality tests are necessary for Telpo smart cash registers?
1. Reliability
As a crucial component of business operations, any downtime or malfunction of the smart cash register can cause workflow disruption and even financial loss. Telpo’s strict quality tests aim to ensure the device operates reliably and minimize the chances of breakdowns or failures in the course of future use.
2. Compliance
As electronic devices, smart cash registers require to be compliant with the legal standards of export countries. Quality tests help ensure that the cash register meets these compliance requirements, such as accurate tax calculations and reporting features, avoiding any potential legal issues for businesses using them.
